Honey is a natural antibacterial, antioxidant and antibiotic. It can be effective in reducing dry coughs and soothing mild sore throats.

Taking a mixture of lemon and honey several times a day helps relieve symptoms. These two simple foods are a wonderful remedy for sore throats. Lemon provides vitamin C and has an antibacterial action, while honey has a soothing effect on irritated mucous membranes.

You can for example:

  • Take a mixture of warm milk and honey
  • Dissolve a teaspoon of honey in a glass of warm water with a few drops of lemon
  • Use honey to sweeten hot drinks, such as tea or chamomile.

You can also use it as a herbal tea. Make an infusion based on eucalyptus and thyme, with 2 to 3 grams of dried leaves and let steep in a cup of boiling water for 5 to 10 minutes.

Garlic and onion

They also promote the expulsion of phlegm and help relieve coughs.

You can eat them raw (if you have the courage) or as an infusion. Heat water over medium heat with the garlic and onion. Then lower the heat and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Let it sit and then take half a cup in small sips.

Continue to drink it, 3 to 4 times a day, until the symptoms disappear.

Thyme, rosemary and oregano

To prepare the recipe, boil 1-2 cups of water in a large saucepan, then add 2 teaspoons of thyme, a little rosemary and oregano.

Take a towel, cover your head over the pan and start inhaling the steam. Inhale for as long as possible (minimum 15 minutes). This will help you decongest your nasal walls and eliminate viruses and bacteria in your airways. Keep tissues handy.

You can add 1/2 cup of vinegar. It won’t smell good, but it will help fight the disease.
