The police described a “terrible scene”. Five people were killed and another injured Sunday in a shooting at an apartment building in suburban Toronto, eastern Canada, police said. The suspect is believed to have died after a firefight with law enforcement, local police chief Jim MacSween told reporters. The injured person was taken to hospital and his life is not in danger.
In the early evening, the police were called for shooting and “once they arrived on the scene, the officers were confronted with a terrible scene with several people already deceased”, explained Jim MacSween to the press, according to Canadian media. Police are now investigating the motive for the killings and whether there was a connection between the victims and the suspect, an unnamed man.
