From Ireland to the United Kingdom the risk of cuts

In the Nordic countries, the Sweden is most at risk with low nuclear output caused by “delays in planned shutdowns of nuclear power plants” and “a low filling rate of the tanks”. The Finland is not to be outdone and could run out of energy from its nuclear fleet. At the same time, the halt in Russian hydrocarbon and electricity imports has contributed to worsening the situation in the Nordic countries. Heavily dependent on coal, theGermany and the Poland are also apprehensive about the coming winter, without, however, foreseeing cuts as of now.

If in France, the risk of cuts remains “moderate” in December but are high “in the first half of January 2023 due to lower projections of nuclear production and demand”, according to RTE estimates. Among its neighbours, power cuts are not expected before the year 2023, when “the majority of the risks are concentrated there in January and February”.
