Abroad, the dream can quickly turn into a nightmare if you are not well covered.

If you have not planned a health budget abroad, you can count on travel insurance to take care of you in the event of a problem.

What is support for?

A day of hospitalization in the United States can reach 7450€/day! In Canada, an average of €2,177 is billed without intensive care. In Australia, a night in the hospital costs €740. With a student budget, it is difficult, if not impossible, to pay such high bills.

By subscribing to travel insurance, your health expenses for an unexpected illness or an accident will be reimbursed at 100% of the actual costs!

Health insurance abroad: how does it work?

If your state of health requires hospitalization for more than 24 hours, you can request coverage from your insurance.

To do this :

  • Call your insurer to inform them of the current hospitalization.
  • Communicates the contact details of the health establishment abroad.

The insurance then contacts the health center and requests a medical report for study. Support is then established.

If your hospitalization lasts less than 24 hours, no coverage is to be expected. You must pay all bills before requesting reimbursement.

PLEASE NOTE: the coverage does not in any way concern scheduled care, check-ups and health check-ups or even screenings. Only unexpected care can be reimbursed or covered.

How to choose your health insurance abroad?

To find out about the different offers available, consult the insurers’ websites directly or contact their advisers. Beware of insurance companies that charge ridiculously low rates, they may omit significant deductibles.
