With less than a week to Christmas, fighting continues in Ukraine, and attacks by Moscow forces continue to affect civilians. New Russian strikes killed five people on Saturday, December 17 in Ukraine, where the authorities were trying to restore electricity as quickly as possible after the massive missile strikes the day before, which caused power cuts. On Saturday, 76 Russian missiles were launched at Ukraine, 60 of which were shot down by air defense.
A new attack that President Zelensky denounced as targeting civilians, while Moscow denied having targeted important targets for Ukrainian defense, in order to prevent the delivery of foreign weapons to Ukraine. “As a result of the strike, a delivery of arms and ammunition of foreign manufacture was prevented, an advance of the reserves (in men of the Ukrainian forces) towards the combat zones was blocked, the operation of the manufacturing enterprises and repair of weapons (…) has been suspended”, thus justified the Russian Ministry of Defense.
