La Sila, an immaculate expanse, only cut through by an old locomotive, and intertwined roads that criss-cross between frozen lakes. The oldest train in Italy, nicknamed “La Vielle Dame”, which we discover in the TF1 report at the top of this article, has been circulating there since 1929. It is not the destination, but rather the journey that attracts passengers. The train cuts through the mountain to the highest station on the peninsula, 1400 meters above sea level.
