Religious buildings under the Orthodox flag in the sights of kyiv. The Ukrainian security services (SBU) announced on Wednesday that they were taking “counterintelligence measures” in these places, suspected of being close to the Russian enemy.
In detail, 19 monasteries, cathedrals and churches belonging to the Orthodox Church are concerned by these measures which aim to “to counter the subversive activities of the Russian secret services in our country”, the SBU wrote in a statement. All come under the Moscow Patriarchate. And are located in all corners of the country, including in the regions of Transcarpathia, Chernivtsi, Rivne, Volyn, Lviv (west), Zhytomyr (central-west) Mykolaiv and Kherson (south) and Sumy (north).
