How can this village in the middle of the American countryside, in the heart of Indiana, be called “Santa Claus”? The answer can be found in the city museum, that of Santa Claus of course. On display are old toys, figurines from around the world, children’s letters from the 1930s, and a small piece of framed paper hanging on the wall. “January 1856. The post office asked that our municipality of Santa Fe change its name because there were already other Santa Fe”explains Patricia Yellig Koch.
