Emmanuel Macron did not wait for his Ukrainian counterpart on the steps of the Élysée, this Wednesday, February 8. In the courtyard of the presidential palace, the French president descended the steps, a strong ceremonial gesture, to welcome Volodymyr Zelensky while the Republican Guard played. Once on the steps, Volodymyr Zelensky and Emmanuel Macron were joined by Olaf Scholz, the German Chancellor. All three then spoke, before taking part in a dinner.
