War in Ukraine meeting Monday between Russia and the UN

The UN and Russia around the same table. Moscow announced Monday a meeting in Geneva on the agreement on Ukrainian grain exports. Objective: to extend the text beyond March 18, despite the fact that the negotiations are “complicated” according to the Kremlin.

“The next rounds of consultations are scheduled for March 13 in Geneva, in which the Russian interministerial delegation will participate” with “representatives of the UN”, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a press briefing. Earlier Thursday, the head of Russian diplomacy, Sergei Lavrov, had called “complicated” negotiations aimed at extending the agreement which had enabled the resumption of Ukrainian grain exports, despite Moscow’s offensive.
